If you want/need to be on the bleeding edge why not use the upstream Fedora server? I know there’s no paid support for Fedora which would turn away most enterprises but, to my point, most enterprises don’t need advanced kernel features.
I suggest that companies run RHEL where it is right to run RHEL (stable environments) and run something with a more advanced kernel (CoreOS, Debian, Fedora) when it’s needed. I don’t think it’s all or nothing and not nearly as dire as your original article makes it out to be.
